When 4 year old Amanda McCready disappears from her home and the police make little headway in solving the case, the girl’s aunt Beatrice McCready hires two private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro. The detective freely admit that they have little experience with this type of case, but the family wants them for two reasons – they’re not cops and they know the tough neighborhood in which they all live. As the case progresses, Kenzie and Gennaro face drug dealers, gangs and pedophiles. When they finally solve the case, they are faced with a moral dilemma that tears them apart
Anytime a movie can get you to pause and consider a moral dilemma (what would I have done?) while watching it definitely deserves a high mark in my book!! This movie showed the very raw, mean streets of Boston’s underbelly and didn’t sugar-coat anything. I liked that it was real and not made all pretty for film as in so many other films of late. I have/will recommend this movie to all my friends. Kudos to Casey Affleck, Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris. This was, so far, the best movie I’ve seen in 2007. I haven’t been impressed with Ben Affleck in front of the camera, but maybe he’s found his niche – behind the camera? Just go see it

بعد اختطاف أماندا ذات الأربع سنوات تتدخل خالتها و تستعين بمحققين خاصيين لحل القضية , يعترف المحققين و المرتبطين بعلاقة حب بأنهم ليسا أهلا ذو خيرة بهذا النوع من القضايا و لكن الخالة تصر و ذلك لسببين الأول أنهما ليسا من الشرطة و الثاني أنهما يعيشان في الحي ذاته و على علم بوحشية المكان و أسراره .و تبدأ رحلتهما للوصول الى المجرم و بعد حل القضية و اللغز يكتشفات انهما يوجهان معضلة أكبر و أخطر و التي ستفرقهما هم في نهاية المطاف.
الفيلم يستوقفك ليحرك بالنهاية في داخلك سؤال ( ماذا كنت لأفعل) حيث أن المشاهدين يواجهون معضلة أخلاقية تعتبر اهم ايجابيات الفيلم وذلك عدا عن نقله للواقع دون أي تجميل أو تغيير

العبارة تنطبق و بشكل كبير على الفيلم
لأنو الحقيقة أحيانا تكون أكبر مما يمكن تحملها
و ذلك يظهر في نهايةالفيلم
حيث أنه حياتهم جميعا تغيرت بعد أن وجدوا الحقيقة التي كانوا يبحثون عنها طوال الفيلم
و لقد أثرت على حياة البطلين المحققين شخصيا أيضا
كان ابداع المخرج بن أفليك في نقل الواقع و البيئة بتفاصيلها
اللغة و الملابس والحياة و الشوارع دون أي تجميل
و لكن و على مستوى الأداء لم يكن مستوى تمثيل البطل أخوه على مستوى الفيلم
و لكن أداء والدة الطفلة كان راثعا و مميزا
و حتى طريقة الملابس و التصرفات لدرجة أنها و عند مجيئها الى موقع التصوير بعض الحراس لم يسمحوا لها بالدخول لأنهم اعتقدوا انها امرأة من الطبقة الوسطى و ليست ممثلة
الفيلم جيد و عميق و لكنه ليس على مستوى فيلم mystic river المأخوذ عن الرواية السابقة للكاتبة نفسها
و لكن الأحاث لم تكن على مستوى النهاية الرائعة التي تحرك فيك سؤال ماذا لو واجهت انا هذا الموقف بنفسك
الفيلم برأيي يستحق المشاهدة
